A Vigil of Repentance in Remembrance of the Victims of Abortion

January 31, 2021 | Pastor Bloch

Life Sunday! Today we celebrate the precious gift of life. Since the legalization of abortion in January of 1973, more than 61 million children died before birth in the United States. As we remember their loss and the grief it has brought, we also seek to show our support for life in all its phases from conception to natural death, including the care of those in their later years. On the insert today, note the resources our new Life Team has to share that help us appreciate the gift and responsibility of life.

Life Team Forms at Immanuel: A team of people interested in advocating for God’s gift of life in all its phases has begun forming at Immanuel. An initial meeting was held this past Thursday. Advocating for the life of infants is part of their scope of work, but it also includes sharing resources for families affected by abortion, dementia, and a whole range of threats.
