Hurricane Sally Relief in Fairhope, Alabama
If you’re interested in helping with hurricane relief feel free to contact Pastor Rodriguez.

There remains much work and many families in need of assistance with clean-up in this area. If you as an individual or with a group are willing and able to serve in the area, please call the church office. The Southern District Emergency Relief Team continues to seek volunteers and has housing available in that area.

Helping Our Neighbor:   Sometimes our neighbor is next door, or in our own community, where we feed the hungry and provide clothing for those in need.  Other times, the neighbor is farther away.  In the past, when hurricanes and other storms have wreaked havoc, Immanuel members have responded.  That is also true in the aftermath of Hurricane Sally.  Here are ways you can help:

  • Pray for the families and churches and schools affected
  • Go in person to lend a hand. The LCMS- Southern Disctrict Disaster Response Team will be stationed in South Alabama for the remainder of the year. Please visit for more information.
  • Provide a gift.  LCMS Disaster relief has people on the ground in Florida and Alabama, California and Oregon, Iowa, and others hard-hit areas.  You can send a check to the church that we can forward, or mail directly to LCMS Disaster Relief, 1333 South Kirkwood Road, St. Louis, MO  63122-7226. Thanks!

Immanuel is collecting donations in order to purchase 250 Christmas gift boxes for the Haitian students. Pastor Thomas Bernard's church will be giving each child, Prek – 9th grade, a small gift box with an age appropriate toy and a book for the student to enjoy. The cost of each box is $10. If you and your family would like to participate in this project, please send your gift to Heart4Haiti, c/o Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 South Walnut Street, Seymour, IN 47274.

You may also donate HERE or drop a check by the church office. Thank you for your support of this very important giving ministry.

Due to COVID-19 the Board of Human Care feels compelled to keep our members as safe as we can from exposure. Beginning November 22 through December 13 there will be envelopes in the bulletin to accept monetary donations for the purchase of 50 gift cards that families can use to purchase the food they need for the holidays. This is in lieu of the food baskets we normally assemble as a group. We still would like volunteers to help deliver the gift cards and other items to foster the spiritual needs of the families. The deliveries will take place the afternoon of December 20th. If you’re interested in helping deliver, please call the church office – 812-522-3118.

Due to the great need in Haiti for food we ask that you consider how you and your family can contribute financially to help meet the needs of families in Haiti who are starving. We are asking if each family in our congregation would consider making a one time or weekly contribution over the next several months. Donate to Haiti ONLINE HERE or drop your donation off in the Feeding Haiti box in the narthex.

Use your gifts here at Immanuel

God has given you gifts to be used within the body of Christ. St. Paul wrote: “We have different gifts according to the grace given us.” Rom. 12:4-6

Our gifts are not the same for good reason. We work together to accomplish the many things He asks us to do. There are hundreds of ways to contribute to the health and mission of our church, and each of them provide ways to be connected to other members. We want to do what we can to make sure you can get involved in ways that you like.

Each of us is gifted in some way by God to be of help in the work of the church, the body of Christ. God’s blessings to you as you serve Him and fellow members of the body here!
